Legal services done differently

We are an entrepreneurial mesh of curious legal minds. We hail from national firms and in-house appointments across an array of industry verticals. We are specialist, commercially minded legal talent and we love what we do.

We merge strong fundamentals in commercial and corporate law and other “traditional” legal disciplines with specialist legal expertise in digital law and emerging technology.

Our approach is multidisciplinary and blended across strategic and complementary capabilities. Legal expertise is but one of several arrows in our quiver. We enjoy collaborative and enriching partnerships with our preferred partners to produce cohesive strategies for regulatory engagement, communication and recruitment.

Victoria Wells

Victoria balances diverse advisory and legal appointments spanning e-com, tech, manufacture, agribusiness, health and education. Her mission as a lawyer is to thought-lead service delivery, drawing upon her experience as General Counsel and in senior legal project management roles in Australia and abroad. Previously GC of the largest privately owned Australian agricultural conglomerate, and before that a multinational telecommunications SME, her most recent appointment involved COVID-19 crisis management to a prominent automotive company via 3DEME, a rapid med-tech manufacture SPV. Victoria’s affinity for project management and network creation is matched only by her passion for and deep experience in the disruption of professional services delivery. Away from work her interests lie in minting or making art and occasionally putting her electronic devices on charge.

John Conidi

John is a perpetual innovator, investor and futurist with over 25 years’ experience developing, acquiring and managing businesses covering multiple industries including, healthcare, resources, technology and manufacturing.
John was managing director of Capitol Health Ltd. from 2007 to 2016 and oversaw its market capitalisation increase from $20 million to over $500 million.

His clear and focused plan centred on technology, resulted in vast benefits in productivity and service delivery generating increased profitability and shareholder prosperity.
John is a Non-Executive Director of Ecograf Limited (EGR.ASX) and Chairman of 333D Limited (T3D.ASX).John has a passion for history, and delves deep into the past to get an insight into the future, because as humans our behaviour does not change.

Nigel Finch

Corporate and Legal Advisor, MCom LLM MBA PhD CA CTA FCPA FTIA FAICD

Dr Nigel Finch, has 20 years of practical market and academic success. He has deep experience across many markets having advised clients in Australia and overseas in the manufacturing, mining, entertainment, technology, financial services, agriculture, not-for-profit, higher education and emerging market sectors.

Having advised clients operating in South East Asia, the Middle East and Central Asia, Nigel is well accustomed to international business. In fact, when it comes to emerging markets and sovereign risk Nigel wrote the book on it, literally. He has also published on a variety of subjects including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, governance, management accounting and mining.
Nigel’s research has international impact in both academia and practice and he is rated among the top 10% academic authors on SSRN. His weekly StockDoc market commentary podcasts are streamed on Spotify by Stockhead reaching a national audience of institutional financial market participants.
Nigel has a proven talent for working closely with organisations in order to gain a full understanding of their unique financial circumstances and turning this understanding into growth and prosperity for the shareholders. His unique perspective on business finance and practical expertise in executing razor sharp strategy sets him apart.

Nigel holds degrees in accounting, business and law plus a PhD in business law. His professional qualifications include Certified Practising Accountant, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Tax Adviser and a fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia, the Taxation Institute of Australia, the Australian Institute of Company Directors and CPA Australia.
Nigel is a former Associate Dean and Associate Professor in Accounting at The University of Sydney and Honorary Consul-General of Mongolia in Sydney.
Nigel has held senior roles as a financial controller, investment manager and executive director across a variety of industries. He is the author of more than 100 academic publications including several books on finance and investment including Contemporary Issue in Mining: Leading Practice in Australia and Emerging Markets and Sovereign Risk.
